Choosing an electrolyte powder that helps you meet your hydration goals isn't easy. After all, every individual's lifestyle, activity level, and health needs are different! That's why I take the time to review products—to help my clients pick the best hydration supplement for their specific needs.

Recently released in May 2026, Bloom Daily Hydration packets are part of the brand Bloom Nutrition's ever-growing product lineup. I've reviewed one of the company's other popular offerings, Bloom Greens & Superfoods, so I thought I'd dig deeper into their new electrolyte supplement to see how it holds up to competitors in the space.

Learn more about Bloom Hydration's formula, ingredients, purported benefits, taste, and more and discover why I still recommend Live it Up Vital Minerals instead.

Bottom Line: Is Bloom Hydration Worth a Try?

Bloom Hydration sticks are a great option for those looking to replenish their electrolytes, as it offers balanced minerals and additional vitamins for hydration support and post-workout recovery. However, it's pricier than competitors, contains some filler additives, has an artificial taste to some people, and doesn't mix well.

Because of this, I recommend Live it Up Vital Minerals for its natural hydration formula, affordability, smooth texture, and delightful taste.

What Is Bloom?

When Bloom Nutrition cofounder Mari Llewellyn began her health and fitness journey years ago, she didn't have aspirations for a nutrition company. Llewellyn wanted to boost her confidence—in herself and her body—so she began a fitness program and healthy eating practice with support from her now-husband Greg LaVecchia. Llewellyn posted her journey on social media, which gained a massive following, so the couple began selling workout guides and launched some fitness products to capitalize on Llewellyn's popularity.

Then, Llewellyn tiptoed into the supplement space after finding that the available options weren't cutting it for her purposes. So, in 2019, Bloom Nutrition was born, first offering a pre-workout product, then the popular Bloom Greens. Since then, the company has launched protein and creatine, energy, colostrum and collagen, and hydration products.

Bloom Hydration Purported Benefits

There are several purported benefits of Bloom Hydration sticks: daily hydration, post-workout recovery, and healthy hair, skin, and nails. Here, I'll dig into each one to find out if it's supported by the formula.

Daily Hydration

Bloom Hydration seems to fulfill its daily hydration claim, something I'm very pleased to see in a saturated market, where many hydration supplements fall short.

First, the formula includes a balanced ratio of sodium to potassium, at 500mg sodium to 300mg potassium. This nearly hits the ideal mark of approximately a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio of the minerals. Why is this ratio the gold standard in hydration? Because sodium and potassium work together to regulate extracellular and intracellular fluids. It's a unique partnership that requires the right balance for proper hydration.

Chloride is also included at 460mg (20% DV), which works alongside sodium and potassium to maintain fluid balance throughout the body's cells, tissues, and organs.

I also appreciate that Bloom uses 500mg of sodium, a more moderate amount, which is unlike what some competitors use, such as LMNT or Saltt.

Supports Post-Workout Recovery

Exercising can deplete our electrolyte levels, making it important to replenish what's lost through sweat. In fact, Johns Hopkins Medicine reports that individuals can lose between 200mg to 2,000mg of sodium in one liter of sweat. The total amount largely depends on the activity, climate (e.g., hot and humid), and your individual makeup. Bloom Hydration contains 500mg of sodium, well within that range for electrolyte replenishment.

The formula further supports post-workout recovery with the inclusion of these ingredients:

  • Calcium. Calcium is not only important for bone health but can also help minimize muscle cramps post-workout. The recommended daily intake for adults is around 1,000mg per day (Bloom includes 50mg), so just be sure that you're getting enough from whole-food sources throughout the rest of your day.
  • Magnesium. While more studies are needed to determine the amount and timing of magnesium supplementation post-exercise, research shows that the mineral can delay muscle soreness after a workout and that magnesium citrate (which Bloom includes) is the best form for muscle efficiency.
  • Chloride. This mineral is typically included with sodium (sodium chloride) and can also help to reduce exercise-associated muscle cramps.
  • Collagen peptides. A 2021 review of several studies links collagen supplementation with beneficial effects on muscle soreness and exercise recovery as well as joint function and recovery from athletic activity.

Promotes Healthy Hair, Skin, and Nails

Bloom Hydration also claims to contribute to hair, skin, and nail health, primarily through its inclusion of bovine collagen peptides. Bovine collagen has been shown to help with certain signs of aging in skin, such as skin laxity and wrinkles.

Additionally, these collagen peptides may help with nail growth and brittleness and may support hair growth and prevent thinning related to aging, but keep in mind that research is still limited in this space.

Bloom Hydration Ingredients

It's important to choose a hydration supplement that includes clean ingredients that will help you reach your health goals. Let's take a look at what Bloom's formula is made up of.

  • Electrolytes: Bloom includes five essential electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, magnesium, chloride, and calcium. All of these contribute to cellular hydration and athletic exercise and recovery.
  • Vitamins: The formula has vitamin C and B vitamins, including thiamin (B1), niacin (B3), and vitamin B12. I'm happy to see that Bloom adds in these vitamins, especially vitamin C, which can help with heat tolerance and energy metabolism. B vitamins support several areas of health, such as energy, healthy skin, mood, and oxygen transport throughout the body.
  • Protein: Whey protein isolate and bovine collagen peptides are unique additions to Bloom Hydration's formula—and electrolyte supplements in general. Both contribute to daily protein needs, and the collagen peptides have additional potential benefits to skin, hair, and nail health.
  • Sweeteners: Stevia leaf and fermented rebaudioside M (reb M) are used to sweeten each flavor. Reb M is present in stevia leaf but is hard to derive, so it's made by fermenting rice; it typically has a cleaner aftertaste than other stevia leaf extracts.
  • Other ingredients: Bloom Hydration sticks also contain natural flavors and fruit and vegetable juices for color. I'm disappointed to see silicon dioxide, an anti-caking agent, and the additive silicone (antifoam) as additional ingredients.

Bloom Hydration Cost Analysis

Adding a supplement to your routine means evaluating the daily cost. Here's a breakdown of Bloom Hydration prices for a 15-serving box:

  • One-time purchase: $29.97 ($1.99/serving)
  • Subscription: $25.47 ($1.69/serving)
  • 5-count and 10-count stick boxes are also available for the same price per serving
  • Shipping: Free for subscribers and one-time orders over $50; $5 for one-time orders under $50

The cost of Bloom Daily Hydration is my main complaint about the product. It's significantly more expensive per serving than many other hydration supplements, and one order only lasts 15 days, so you need to purchase two boxes at a time to get you through the month.

Additionally, Bloom only allows returns for unopened items of this product, meaning that you can't try a stick pack before deciding if you'd like to keep it. If you do decide to return your unopened package, you'll have to pay for return shipping costs. You can, however, purchase a 5-stick order or the variety pack that includes both flavors, but again, no returns for opened items.

In contrast, Live it Up Vital Minerals is less than $1 per serving with a subscription and offers free shipping and a 30-day money-back guarantee—no questions asked.

Bloom Hydration Taste Review

Bloom Daily Hydration comes in two flavors: Strawberry Lemonade and Rocket Blast. After trying both, I came to the conclusion that, well, they’re much too sweet for my liking. I do think that the Rocket Blast flavor (with notes of blue raspberry, cherry, and limeade) is unique, but the taste felt off and the sweetness level was a bit too much. Other customers have echoed that despite the formula’s natural ingredients, the flavor comes off as artificial.

Some reviewers said that it "left a bad taste in my mouth" and "I could not stomach the taste." But, of course, taste buds vary among individuals. Many people praise the product, saying "I love this stuff" and that the "flavor is genuinely good." If you enjoy sweeter drinks, Bloom’s electrolyte mix could be for you.

Another point of consensus is that the Bloom Hydration powder doesn't mix well. I also found that this was true. The powder requires vigorous mixing—and re-mixing—to get to a non-clumpy texture. It has a powdery mouthfeel, even after mixing and stirring.

For an electrolyte powder that mixes well and has well-rounded, not-too-sweet flavors, try Live it Up Vital Minerals. Discover your favorite of the five flavors and encounter a refreshing, easily dissolvable formula that you'll want to drink daily.

Why I Choose Live it Up Vital Minerals

Bloom Daily Hydration is a solid choice for those looking to meet their daily hydration needs. The formula's minerals are well-balanced for cellular hydration and electrolyte replenishment, and the inclusion of vitamins provides additional health benefits. Plus, the product is unique in that it offers 5g of protein per serving. However, I still wouldn't recommend this electrolyte supplement due to its higher cost, additives, and less-than-stellar texture.

Instead, I steer my clients toward Live it Up Vital Minerals, an affordable, clean option that helps individuals meet their daily hydration goals. Vital Minerals is my go-to pick because:

  • The formula includes a balance of sodium to potassium for effective hydration.
  • It includes calcium and vitamin C for post-workout recovery and energy metabolism.
  • Coconut water powder (1.5g) further supports hydration with naturally occurring potassium and sodium electrolytes.
  • Sodium is included in the form of sea salt, which contains extra trace minerals.
  • There are five delicious flavors to choose from and no additives or fillers.
  • Less than $1 per serving with a subscription and free shipping.
  • Every batch is third-party tested for quality and purity.

While every person has different health and hydration goals, taste preferences, and cost limits, I still recommend Live it Up Vital Minerals for its real, natural electrolytes, ability to support an active lifestyle, variety of flavor profiles, and unbeatable price.
