So I was excited to try Magic Scoop’s All-in-One Greens, which comes in enticing flavors and handy little travel packs. Here I’ll share my thoughts and research on this product, from the ingredients and purported health benefits to the premium cost and taste.

The bottom line, however, is that when it comes to an affordable, daily greens powder, my first choice is always the natural, balanced nutrition found in Live it Up Super Greens.

Bottom Line: Is Magic Scoop All-in-One Greens Worth a Try?

I believe Magic Scoop is a pricey multivitamin tries to fit a lot of plants into one scoop. It includes over 75 ingredients in just one 10g serving—more than most other brands on the market—but dosing many of its plants as low as just 20mg. On the plus side, Magic Scoop is offered in four pleasant flavors and comes in handy travel packs.

While less than AG1, Magic Scoop is more expensive than other brands, such as Live it Up Super Greens, and doesn’t deliver the same all-natural, concentrated blend of organic vegetables.  

What Is Magic Scoop?

Magic Scoop is a Canadian brand of health supplements which is relatively new to the market. It currently offers All-in-One Greens as well as a hydration drink that combines electrolytes and creatine.

The brand was founded by brothers Adam, Amir, and Ali Assadkhan, who are also founders of the supplement brand Vitasave which launched in 2013 and also offers health and beauty, grocery, and superfoods products. 

Their goal in founding Magic Scoop was to find a simple solution for optimal daily nutrition without the inconvenience of juggling multiple products or capsules. The result is a green supplement powder that contains a range of synthetic vitamins and minerals, as well as vegetables, fruits, adaptogens, and probiotics.

Magic Scoop Ingredients and Purported Benefits

Magic Scoop All-in-One Greens contains a blend of vitamins, minerals, probiotics, prebiotics, and adaptogens that offers a range of purported health benefits. After analysis of the ingredients and nutritional information, these are my thoughts on whether this product can live up to its claims.

#1: Supports Gut Health

Supporting gut health and digestion is one of the main purported benefits of Magic Scoop’s All-in-One Greens, with prebiotics like inulin fiber and an impressive number of probiotics included in the blend. There are 7 billion CFUs of Bacillus coagulans and Lactobacillus acidophilus. You’ll also find ingredients like bromelain and papain, which are digestive enzymes that can help support nutrient absorption and gut function. 

Other ingredients which may aid digestion include ginger and apple cider vinegar—which Magic Scoop claims supports digestion and gut pH balance. While there is some research into the benefits of apple cider vinegar in a liquid form, little research has been done on it in a powdered state, so the benefits of this ingredient are not well-known.

Probiotics and digestive enzymes work differently to help the gut function. Probiotics are live organisms that make up your gut’s friendly bacteria, while digestive enzymes are proteins your body needs to break down food.

#2: Contributes to Immunity 

Some of the ingredients in Magic Scoop that offer potential immune support are vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, and antioxidants from selenium, blueberries, and green tea.

When it comes to vitamins and minerals, more is not always better. Many of these nutrients meet or exceed recommended daily values. Examples:

In addition to the synthetic vitamins and minerals, Magic Scoop includes a long list of vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, and adaptogens, some of which are believed to help support the immune system. However, the sheer volume of ingredients packed into a single 10g serving of Magic Scoop (only about 8 grams of which are devoted to the superfoods) means there may not be enough of some of them to be impactful. For example, there is 150mg of cordyceps, but most studies look at effects of using between 1,000-3,000mg daily. 

#3: Enhances Focus and Cognition

A dose of Magic Scoop contains a Super Mushroom Complex, which they claim offers support for cognition, relaxation, and performance. It includes functional mushrooms such as cordyceps, lion’s mane, reishi, chaga, turkey tail, and shitake. Once again, these are some great ingredients, yet they may not be at optimal levels. One example is lion’s mane: Researchers recommend 3–5g per day as an effective dose, yet All-in-One Greens delivers just 150mg per serving. 

Adaptogens such as ashwagandha and astragalus—which may help the body adapt to stress and manage cortisol levels—and superfoods like acai berries and spirulina are likewise offered in small quantities.

#4: Enhances Energy

Magic Scoop may support your energy levels through vitamin B12 (50mcg), magnesium (50mg) for muscle function and energy production, and B vitamins for energy metabolism.

It's worth noting that the vitamins and minerals in Magic Scoop are synthetic nutrients the same as you’d find in a daily multivitamin pill or gummy product. Research has suggested that your body may use nutrients best when taken from whole food ingredients instead. 

Magic Scoop Quality and Testing

While the USDA does not test health supplements, in Canada where Magic Scoop is based, Health Canada regulates natural health products. This is good news for consumers as it reassures them that products and their ingredients are safe. The Licensed Natural Health Products Database confirms the product’s current license and includes a detailed list of ingredients, quantities, contraindications, and known effects.

Magic Scoop offers good quality and safety measures including GMP Certification, NSF Certified Sport, and third party testing. This is in line with other top brands such as Live it Up Super Greens, which has a transparent and intentional approach to third party testing.

All-in-One Greens is offered in four drink flavors: unflavored, pineapple coconut, strawberry lemonade, and mango. These are sweetened by stevia leaf, steviol glycosides, and natural flavors which can help satisfy a sweet craving without added sugar.

As Magic Scoop is a relatively new company, it has fewer customer reviews than top competitors like AG1 and Live it Up, though the brand’s website features many positive reviews on the taste of All-in-One Greens.

Users havecommented how they love how they feel taking the product.

There are also some more mixed reviews: “Not as fond of the strawberry lemonade so I’ll go back to the Pineapple Coconut.” 

There seems to be mixed reviews as to which flavor is best, and of course this comes down to personal preference.

I also found there to be a distinctly grassy aftertaste, which some users echoed, (especially when sipping it on an empty stomach first thing in the morning as directed). The texture can be slightly gritty, although the shaker helps to mix it and it does well in smoothies.

Why I Choose Live it Up Super Greens

While a healthy daily diet is the optimum way to get your nutrition, I support any way in which people can fill dietary gaps. All-in-One Greens has a variety of superfoods, high-quality manufacturing, and four flavor options. If the dose of vitamins and minerals fits within your individual health needs and you don't mind the price, then Magic Scoop could be a good way to boost your daily intake. 

Overall, while I was impressed with the amount of probiotics and inclusion of nutrient-dense greens and super mushrooms, many ingredients appear to be in small amounts.
