BelliWelli Powder Review: Is This Fiber Formula All It’s Cracked Up to Be?

In this article:

As a dietitian, it's my job to know what's on the market and whether I would recommend it to my clients. Due to BelliWelli's rising popularity on social media, I was compelled to review this dietary fiber mix.

I took a look at this supplement’s formula, health targets, manufacturing, taste, and price. Although BelliWelli powder is not a greens powder, its gut health claims align with those of other dietary supplements like Live it Up Super Greens. However, after thoroughly researching BelliWelli, I do not believe it lives up to its promise of potent digestive support.

In this article, I’ll cover:

  • What Is BelliWelli?
  • Purported Health Benefits

Bottom Line: Is BelliWelli Worth a Try?

BelliWelli's biggest selling point is that it supports gut health, but with only one billion CFUs of probiotics from one strain and no digestive enzymes, I wonder how much it actually impacts your digestion. I am more confident recommending Live it Up Super Greens to my clients because it offers a more robust blend of all-natural superfoods, three digestive enzymes, 3g of fiber, and five billion CFUs of probiotics from four strains.

What Is BelliWelli?

BelliWelli is a wellness brand focusing on fiber supplements supporting gut health. Katie and Nick Wilson co-founded the company after seeing a need for delicious-tasting, gut-healthy food. Their success started with a chocolate chip bar, and their brand has since expanded with a line of daily fiber mixes designed to help support gut health and digestion.

For our purposes, I'll focus on the daily fiber mix, which is meant for mixing into a drink, like water, tea, or a smoothie. The daily fiber mix includes the following:

  • BelliWelli Outer Beauty Blend with collagen peptides, niacin, magnesium, sodium, and potassium
  • BelliWelli Inner Beauty Blend, containing 1 billion CFU of probiotics and organic acacia fiber
  • Additional ingredients, such as organic cane sugar, bamboo leaf extract, stevia leaf extract, and spirulina extract

BelliWelli Pros

  • Features 4 g of dietary fiber and 1 billion CFUs of probiotics to support gut health
  • Contains 278 mg of electrolytes to aid hydration
  • Comes in eight different flavors
  • Partners with GI doctors to help ensure ingredient efficacy

BelliWelli Cons

  • Not sugar-free
  • The 16-day serving option will only last you half a month
  • Collagen and probiotics are underdosed
  • No digestive enzymes
  • Free shipping is only available for subscribers and purchases over $50
  • Low prices may reflect the value of the product

BelliWelli Purported Benefits

BelliWelli Purported Benefits

BelliWelli claims that it can support several aspects of your well-being, so let's take a closer look at these purported benefits.

Benefit #1: Gut Health Support

BelliWelli places a strong emphasis on gut and digestive health. However, I see some limitations when I review the product's supplement facts.

For one, the powder includes one billion CFUs of probiotics, but that's actually the bare minimum of what's recommended. The recommended amount is 1 to 10 billion CFUs (ideally 5 to 10). What's more, the BelliWelli powder only includes probiotics from one strain (Bacillus coagulans), so it's not as diverse as other supplements.

I also learned that though BelliWelli has 3.5 grams of Acacia fiber, it doesn't include fibrous vegetables or digestive enzymes. These are key to digestive health, as they help break down food, absorb nutrients, and assist with bloating discomfort.

For comparison, greens powders like Live it Up Super Greens offer more complete digestive support through

  • More CFUs of dairy-free probiotics from multiple strains
  • Fiber-packed organic vegetables, like spinach and kale
  • Digestive enzymes like papain, bromelain, and vegetarian pepsin

Benefit #2: Hydration and Energy

The good news is that BelliWelli does include electrolytes, which can help hydrate your body. The powder features 278 mg of electrolytes, including magnesium, sodium, and potassium.

That said, it's important to note that some experts believe water is a sufficient source of hydration unless you're in an especially hot and humid environment or doing an intense workout. In other words, your body may not need those additional electrolytes to stay hydrated.

The powder also claims it impacts your energy. While it does feature 75 mg of magnesium, a mineral that can influence energy levels, I don't see other key vitamins and minerals listed that are often associated with sustained energy. For example, B vitamins, vitamin C, iron, and zinc are not mentioned in the brand's supplement facts. Without those, it's hard to tell whether BelliWelli can impact energy maintenance.

Benefit #3: Hair, Skin, and Nail Health

BelliWelli also claims to support skin, hair, and nail health due to the inclusion of collagen peptides. Research supports that collagen may influence your skin, muscle, hair, and joint health, and the best sources are from whole proteins and bone broths. In supplement form, medical professionals recommend 2.5 to 15 grams of hydrolized collagen or collagen peptides.

Due to the fact that there’s only 2g of collagen in BelliWelli, I question how much the supplement contributes to this benefit after all.

BelliWelli Ingredient Breakdown

This product features a BelliWelli Inner Beauty Blend and a BelliWelli Outer Beauty Blend, so let's examine some of its ingredients.

BelliWelli Ingredient Breakdown

Outer Beauty Blend

BelliWelli features 2 g of collagen peptides as the first ingredient under its Outer Beauty Blend. There are five main types of collagen, which can support your body's muscles, joints, skin, hair, and nails. However, as previously discussed, BelliWelli’s underdosed quantity is unlikely to support your body in an impactful way.

Additionally, BelliWelli’s Supplement Facts panel only lists four vitamins and minerals, many of which are synthetic rather than naturally derived from whole-food ingredients:

  1. Vitamin B3 - niacin (47% DV)
  2. Magnesium (18% DV)
  3. Sodium (3% DV)
  4. Potassium (2% DV)

BelliWelli includes magnesium, an electrolyte that can help with hydration. While magnesium naturally occurs, the magnesium in this product is from magnesium citric, which is formed by combining magnesium oxide with citric acid. Because of this, it's considered synthetic rather than an all-natural ingredient.

Did You Know? Synthetic vitamins are a good option if you’re deficient in those nutrients, but they’re shown to be nutritionally inferior in the body compared to vitamins and minerals derived from whole-food ingredients.

Inner Beauty Blend

The BelliWelli powder includes 3.5 g of organic acacia fiber, listed as a main Inner Beauty Blend ingredient. Studies suggest that acacia fiber, a form of soluble dietary fiber, may support your gut microbiome by helping to encourage the growth of healthy bacteria. In turn, this "good" bacteria helps support your digestive health.

This blend also contains probiotics can support a healthy gut. But with only 1 billion CFUs, the amount is quite a bit lower than other supplements on the market. Additionally, this powder only contains probiotics from one strain, Bacillus coagulans. While single-strain probiotics can benefit your health, studies suggest that multi-strain probiotics offer more advantages.

Sweeteners

Unlike many other supplement brands that have zero sugar, BelliWelli powder is sweetened with organic cane sugar and stevia leaf extract. These ingredients help enhance the powder's flavor.

I'll admit, I was a little surprised to see these sweeteners listed, especially cane sugar, which is made of sucrose, just like regular sugar. This adds up to 2 grams of added sugar, which is 4% of the daily recommended value. Although it’s not a large amount of sugar, it may be a red flag for those concerned with weight management.

Lastly, BelliWelli includes a few miscellaneous ingredients like natural flavors, malic and citric acids, and bamboo leaf extract, which may support skin health.

BelliWelli Quality and Safety

BelliWelli products are manufactured in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) facility and undergo third-party testing to help ensure quality and safety. However, this supplement only includes two organic ingredients.

The brand also partners with top GI doctors in the U.S. to help maintain ingredient efficacy. They advise the company on what ingredients to include and help ensure they are pure and effective at supporting gut health.

BelliWelli Cost Analysis

BelliWelli has several pricing options, depending on the serving size you select. A one-time purchase of the 32-serving tub costs $43.98 ($1.37 per serving), while the 64-serving tub costs $74.99, plus the shipping cost.

There's also a 16-serving, which costs $22.99 ($1.44 per serving), but it's important to note that this product only includes a 16-day supply, so you'd need to purchase a second tub to get you through the month.

The following are some other pricing factors to consider:

  • Subscribe to the monthly subscription to save 20% off your purchase and receive free shipping. This brings the cost of a 32-day supply down to $35.18.
  • Join the BelliWelli club and earn 15% off your first order.
  • Free shipping is only for orders $50+ (and subscriptions).
  • Select the "Checkout Plus" option for an additional $2.48 for easy returns and package protection.

Although BelliWelli may seem like a great deal, you get what you pay for. In my opinion, this product is likely so affordable because it lacks the value, superfood ingredients, and potential benefits that other brands like Live it Up Super Greens ($1.33 per serving) offer. Depending on your wellness goals, it may be worth it to pay a little bit more and receive a superior product.

BelliWelli Taste Review

Everyone has their personal preferences, so it's not surprising that the reviews were mixed regarding BelliWelli flavors, especially when the brand features so many (8 in total).

Some customers love the flavors, saying, "I just tried watermelon, and it's my favorite flavor so far," while another said, "The peach mango is delicious and refreshing."

On the other hand, some customers had more negative opinions. One customer called it "sickly sweet," likely due to the double-whammy of added sugar and super sweet stevia.

Another said it "does not taste great," while one went as far as calling it "awful."

As for the texture, customers seemed to be pretty content with it overall. For example, the powder "mixes fairly easily," while another reviewer said the "texture can be a little gritty if not well shaken."

In comparison, we tend to see more positive feedback when we look at Live it Up's Super Greens' flavor and texture. Customers have described the Super Green's flavor as refreshing and "slightly sweet," while saying the powder "dissolves quickly" and "mixes well without any visible clumping." Part of the reason why I enjoy Super Greens so much is that it has a subtle flavor and smooth texture.

Why I Recommend Live it Up Super Greens

Live it Up Supergreens

BelliWelli powder prides itself on offering gut support, but its limited ingredient list fails to convince me that consuming the supplement will make much of a difference to your overall health. When so many greens powders on the market offer whole superfoods, a wealth of vitamins and minerals, plus more robust digestive blends, I’d rather my nutrition clients choose those over BelliWelli’s fiber supplement.

In comparison, Live it Up Super Greens has a much more comprehensive list of ingredients for gut health, such as digestive enzymes, billions of multi-strain probiotics, and fibrous organic vegetables like spinach, kale, and broccoli.

Live it Up is committed to using high-quality, non-GMO, all-natural ingredients and organic vegetables. It also features 22 micronutrients to support your well-being and a pleasant flavor and smooth texture. With a risk-free guarantee and affordable price, Live it Up is easy to add to your daily routine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Looking to learn more about BelliWelli? Read our FAQs below.

What does BelliWelli powder do for your body?

BelliWelli is a daily fiber mix that claims to support gut health and digestion with probiotics and fiber. However, the quantity of probiotics in each serving is at a bare minimum compared to many other supplements like Live it Up, and there are no digestive enzymes.

The powder also contains electrolytes for hydration and energy and collagen to support hair, nail, and skin health, though the collagen is underdosed. While the powder includes some beneficial ingredients, BelliWelli offers very little in terms of vitamins and minerals and has 2 grams of added sugar.

Why is BelliWelli so popular?

BelliWelli gained a lot of traction due to its TikTok marketing strategy and retail placement. The brand built an online community focused on gut health, which helped it spread awareness and market its product. It went viral on the social media platform, resulting in an 890% increase in sales. In addition to its savvy marketing initiatives, BelliWelli powder comes in eight different flavors, which may make it more enticing to customers experimenting with dietary supplements.

Does BelliWelli give you gas?

BelliWelli products include gut-friendly ingredients, like fiber and probiotics, which may help with digestive issues. However, digestive upset like bloating, constipation, or diarrhea is a common side effect. If you experience prolonged symptoms, stop taking the powder and consut a health care professional.

BelliWelli powder reviews reveal that some customers have experienced gas, bloating, and even constipation after consuming the product. One customer said, "I have never had so much gas and bloating from a drink," while another said they experienced "extreme bloating and constipation."

Does BelliWelli suppress appetite?

BelliWelli powder is not marketed as an appetite suppressor. However, it does include 4 grams of dietary fiber. Some studies reveal that dietary fiber may help reduce hunger and keep you satiated longer. Therefore, the fiber in this powder could have additional benefits related to appetite suppression, but that is not one of the product's purported health benefits or claims.
