5 Dietitian Reasons Live it Up Beats Field of Greens

In addition to my research, I tried both greens powders to gauge their taste and value. Here are the top reasons why I’d recommend Live it Up to my clients over Field of Greens.

1. Live it Up offers complete gut health support

Digestive support is one of Field of Greens’ purported health benefits. However, its formula lacks any digestive enzymes or probiotics. Instead, it seems to base this claim on the prebiotics and 2 grams of fiber that come from its fruit and vegetable content like organic green apple and ginger.

Organic vegetables are also part of the Live it Up formula, and fiber is an important part of gut health. However, Live it Up Super Greens contains 3 grams of natural dietary fiber plus 5 billion CFU of probiotics and a blend of three digestive enzymes. This more robust combination introduces healthy bacteria, fuel, and enzymes to your microbiome to aid in digestion, nutrient absorption, and possible side effects like bloating.

2. Live it Up is very allergen-friendly

Live it Up contains no dairy, nuts, soy, gluten, or other common allergens. It’s also thoroughly tested to ensure that it’s free from any contaminants that may pose a danger to allergen-sensitive individuals.

Despite being labeled gluten-free and vegan, however, Field of Greens states that its greens powders are made in a facility that can handle common allergens like milk, eggs, soy, shellfish, peanuts, fish, wheat, and tree nuts.

3. Live it Up tastes good and blends well

In my opinion, the best greens powders are both effective and delicious. Live it Up Super Greens powder dissolves into a smooth, refreshing drink when mixed with water, smoothies, or other beverages. It contains monk fruit extract as a sweetener, so the taste is slightly sweet and fresh without being overwhelming. I find it to be among the best-tasting greens powders I’ve tried.

While customer reviews report that Field of Greens dissolves easily, many say it retains a somewhat gritty texture and doesn’t stay mixed if you let it sit. Some reviewers enjoy the flavor, but others refer to a strong, artificial-tasting sweetness that may be due to the brand’s use of stevia extract.

4. Live it Up is third-party tested for safety

No government agency reviews dietary supplements before they are marketed. Since greens supplements can be sold without FDA approval, consumers rely on manufacturing certifications and third-party testing to help identify safe greens powders. All Live it Up products are manufactured in a GMP-certified facility and rigorously tested by a third-party lab for heavy metals, bacteria, yeasts, herbicides, mycotoxins, and pesticides.

Third-party testing is the industry standard for high-quality greens powders, but it’s not a requirement. It's unclear whether Field of Greens is tested in the same way, since the product does not specify third-party testing on the label and BrickHouse Nutrition does not mention third-party testing on its website. This makes it hard to fully verify the product's effectiveness.

5. Live it Up is kind to your wallet

Field of Greens is relatively expensive for a dietary supplement at $3.00 per serving, especially when you consider its lapses in gut support, quality control, and taste compared to Live it Up. Even with savings from a subscription, Field of Greens costs well above the regular price for Live it Up Super Greens, which is just $1.99 per serving.

Did You Know? Millions of Americans use dietary supplements, individually spending roughly $510 a year. For such a big investment, it’s worth taking a bit more time to research your options so that you can get a quality supplement without the huge price tag.

Live it Up Super Greens Overview

Live it Up was founded in 2021 by Haim Nigri, a native Brazilian who wanted to make the fresh, nutritious foods abundant in his home country accessible to everyone. The company launched with the original Super Greens daily greens powder to target overall health. It's a unique, all-natural formula designed to support digestion, immunity, and energy levels without artificial flavors, additives, or sweeteners.

The lineup has since expanded to cover other areas, and Super Greens is now available in a second flavor, Wild Berry. Super Greens is highly rated for its refreshing taste, which helps it stand out from the gritty, grainy textures and earthy flavors for which most greens powders are known.

Field of Greens vs. Live it Up Potential Health Benefits

Many greens powders claim various specific health benefits based on their nutritional content. However, it's important to examine the ingredients and their concentrations to determine if there's truth to those claims.

Field of Greens Purported Benefits

Field of Greens powder claims to be the solution to various common pain points and health concerns, covering everything from inflammation and skin health to gut support and metabolism. Here are the largest benefits:

  • Digestive support: Field of Greens contains fiber-rich fruits and veggies to support digestion but its formula lacks any enzymes and probiotics to aid general gut health.
  • Immunity and inflammation: The powder contains antioxidants from berries and vitamin C, both of which support immune function and have anti-inflammatory properties to help fight oxidative stress.
  • Energy and fatigue: It contains vitamin B12 (20% DV), which aids in energy metabolism. Field of Greens also contains some amount of matcha green tea extract, but it doesn't specify its caffeine content.

Given its vitamin content, Field of Greens powder may be useful for immune health and sustaining your energy throughout the day. However, I think it has some nutritional gaps if you seek a supplement to aid digestion.

Live it Up Purported Benefits

Live it Up Super Greens claims to offer many potential health benefits and backs them up through a concentrated superfood blend.

  • Digestive Support: Live it Up's blend of digestive enzymes and 5 billion CFU of probiotics can aid in nutrient intake and bloating discomfort. And with 3 grams of fiber, it has stronger support for digestive health than Field of Greens.
  • Immune System Health: The greens formula naturally contains vitamins A, B6, E, and Z, as well as zinc and other minerals that play a role in immune system support. These nutrients come from whole-food leafy greens and grasses.
  • Balanced Energy Levels: B vitamins including B1, B2, B3, B6, and B12 (109% DV), along with magnesium and iron (34% DV), all help with the body's energy production and support cognitive function and a healthy metabolism.
