6 Ways Live it Up Beats Jocko Greens, According to a Dietitian

I compared Jocko Greens and Live it Up Super Greens side by side, looking at factors like ingredients, taste, and costs. These are just a few reasons I believe Live it Up Super Greens is the superior dietary supplement.

1. Live it Up features complete digestive support

Both Live it Up and Jocko Greens include a healthy dose of probiotics to help with digestive wellness. But while Jocko Greens powder claims gut support as one of its core health benefits, it only contains one gram of fiber and no digestive enzymes.

Fiber can help move material through your digestive tract, preventing constipation and introducing "good bacteria" into your gut. Meanwhile, digestive enzymes can break down fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, which create energy for your body and help with bloating discomfort.

Now, if we look at Live it Up Super Greens, this supplement features three grams of dietary fiber and three digestive enzymes in addition to 5 billion CFU of probiotics. This increase in fiber and the addition of digestive enzymes suggest that Live it Up may support digestive health better than Jocko Greens.

2. Live it Up has zero fillers and additives

Jocko Greens says it doesn't include fillers, but its ingredient list proves otherwise. Silicon dioxide, which is considered an additive to help prevent caking and clumping, is listed as an ingredient. Meanwhile, Live it Up is completely free of fillers and additives, and its ingredient list backs up that claim.

3. Live it Up is very allergen-friendly

Live it Up is vegan and free of dairy, nuts, soy, and gluten, accommodating many dietary restrictions related to various allergies and lifestyle choices. Compared to Jocko Greens, Live it Up Super Greens is more allergen-friendly.

Despite claiming to be fully plant-based, Jocko Greens powder contains milk, so it's unsuitable for people who cannot consume dairy products. Jocko’s greens packaging and website also fail to mention whether the product is gluten-free or nut-free, so users should assume this product is not safe for those allergens.

4. Live it Up is more transparent about daily recommended values

Daily recommended values (DVs) are crucial because they suggest the percentage of nutrients a person should consume to maintain a healthy diet. Unfortunately, Jocko Greens only provides the percent DVs for nine of its nutrients, making it difficult to see how much the supplement actually contributes to your overall health.

Conversely, Live it Up's supplement facts panel provides a more comprehensive look. It provides the %DVs for 26 vitamins and minerals, giving you a better idea of how well the blend contributes to your daily nutrient intake. For example, Live it Up Super Greens contains 34% of your recommended iron intake and 78% of your recommended vitamin K intake.

Dietitian Tip: An easy way to confirm if a supplement can help you reach your health goals is by looking at the vitamins and minerals it contains. Check the recommended daily value percentages to determine how much (or how little) of each nutrient you're actually receiving in one serving.

5. Live it Up tastes amazing

As for flavor, Live it Up Super Greens may be the better-tasting option—and it's not just me who thinks so. Customers consistently rave about Live it Up Super Green flavors: minty Original and fruity Wild Berries. Many have described the taste as balanced, fresh, and more enjoyable than other greens powders on the market.

Though taste is unique for everyone and there are definite Jocko fans, many customers have a difficult time with Jocko Greens’ flavors, describing them as "awful" or "too sweet." In fact, one customer called it "the worst tasting greens" they've ever had.

6. Live it Up offers bigger subscription savings

Live it Up understands that price is essential when introducing a new product into your daily regimen. Therefore, the brand provides more budget-friendly subscription options and savings than Jocko Greens, making it affordable to supplement your health.

As a Live it Up subscriber, you receive 33% off your monthly orders of Super Greens and a lifetime of free shipping, making the cost of a 30-serving order of Super Greens only $39.99.

Now, let's compare that to the Jocko Greens subscription plan. When you subscribe, you only receive 10% off, and you still have to pay shipping fees if your order is less than $99. With a subscription, a 30-serving purchase of Jocko Greens is $49.99 plus the cost of shipping. Live it Up also offers a bulk discount for 60 servings (42% off) and a money-back guarantee, while Jocko has neither.

Jocko Greens Overview

Jocko Willink set out to create a "clean" supplement after discovering that his favorite brand contained excessive heavy metals. The result was Jocko Fuel, a nutritional supplement company that produces green powders, protein powders, pre-workout powders, and energy drinks. While anyone is welcome to try the Jocko Fuel products, many are geared specifically toward athletes.

The Jocko Greens powder, in particular, features 20 organic superfoods, probiotics, and adaptogens to help support digestive health and immunity.

Jocko vs. Live it Up Potential Health Benefits

Jocko Fuel and Live it Up both produce impressive super greens powders, but I'd like to further examine their individual purported health benefits.

Jocko Purported Benefits

Jocko Greens says it can help support gut health, immune resilience, and stress. Let's take a closer look:

1. Gut Health

  • Jocko Greens features an organic fruit and vegetable blend with probiotics that may aid digestion, encourage the growth of healthy bacteria, and help gut balance.
  • However, this greens power only has 1 g of dietary fiber and no digestive enzymes, making me question how much of an impact it can really make on your digestive health.

2. Immunity

  • Jocko Greens includes an organic vegetable blend with ingredients like organic sweet potatoes, broccoli sprouts, and spinach, which may contribute to immune resilience.
  • Jocko Greens' supplement facts don't list the many vitamins and nutrients that support immune health. This makes it difficult to determine how many micronutrients are present in each serving.

3. Stress

  • Jocko Greens features adaptogens, including Rhodiola rosea extract, milk thistle extract, and ashwagandha extract, which may help lower stress levels.
  • Recent studies suggest that taking 250 mg to 600 mg of ashwagandha daily may help calm anxiety. However, the Jocko Greens power only contains 50 mg of ashwagandha (and 50 mg of each other adaptogen), so I wonder if such a low dose can still influence stress levels.

Live it Up Purported Benefits

As for Live it Up Super Greens, this supplement claims it can support gut health, immune response, and energy levels.

1. Gut Health

  • Live it Up Super Greens is rated among the best green powders for gut health because it includes 5 billion CFUs of dairy-free probiotics, which aligns with the recommended daily dosage of probiotics.
  • The all-natural greens powder also includes three grams of fiber and three digestive enzymes that may help break down food and support digestion.

2. Immunity

  • Super Greens powder contains essential vitamins and nutrients that support immune function, including vitamins A, B6, B12, and K, as well as folate, copper, iron, and magnesium.
  • This supplement also features antioxidants derived from ingredients such as organic spinach, kale, dulse, wheat grass, and kelp, which can also help support a healthy immune system.

3. Energy Levels

  • The Super Greens nutritious blend is packed with B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and B12), which can help activate the enzymes in your body that give you energy.
  • Studies reveal that antioxidant-rich foods, like the ingredients in the Super Greens powder (organic greens, spirulina, and chlorella, for example), may affect energy maintenance.

Taste Comparison

When it comes to greens supplements, the taste can really make or break the product. Based on customer feedback and my own palate and preferences, I believe Live it Up Super Greens is the better option.

Jocko Greens Taste Live it Up Super Greens Taste
Flavors
  1. Peach
  2. Pineapple Coconut
  1. Original (lightly mint)
  2. Wild Berries
Customer reception Mixed reviews on the flavors range from fun and fruity and “amazing” to “not so great” and “offensive.” Customers describe the flavors as a “subtle sweet tang,” “minty,” “earthy,” and “totally refreshing.”
Added sweeteners Fermented sugar cane and monk fruit extract Monk fruit extract
Texture Gritty texture that needs more mixing to dissolve Smooth texture that dissolves quickly

Customer reviews were really telling regarding the taste and consistency of these two popular greens powders.

If we look at Jocko Greens, one customer said, “The product does not taste good. The product does not dissolve, so there are little pieces of it when you drink,” while another said, “Tastes great—no bitterness or overpowering flavors."

As for Live it Up Super Greens, the customer feedback was far more favorable. One customer left a review saying, “No grit, and it tastes great! (I like the subtle sweet tang of the Wild Berry flavor).”

Another customer agreed, “Good flavor, doesn't clump, and a better texture than most others I've tried.”

Dietitian Tip: If you struggle with the taste or texture of greens powders, I recommend blending it into a smoothie. You can also add fruit juice, plant-based milk, or honey to further mask the taste.

Live it Up Supergreens

While Jocko Greens has a lot going for it, I am curious if the product can really aid gut health, nutrition, and stress levels, as it doesn't appear to have all of the ingredients or quantities I look for to support those claims. I am also deterred by the supplement's taste and consistency, potential allergens, high subscription cost, and shipping and return policies.

Because of these reasons, I am more inclined to recommend Live it Up Super Greens to my clients. I realize everyone has different dietary needs and preferences, but Live it Up Super Greens offers a robust blend that ticks all the boxes in my book.

Live it Up Super Greens is a vegan, nut-free, and gluten-free dietary supplement with organic vegetables, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. Furthermore, it has a delicious taste and smooth texture, which makes it easier to introduce into your daily routine. Last but not least, Super Greens is affordable and enjoyable to take every day.

Jocko Greens is a greens powder featuring a fruit and vegetable blend with probiotics that claims to support immunity, gut health, and digestion.

Is Jocko Greens as good as AG1?

Like many Jocko Fuel products, Athletic Greens (AG1) is a super greens supplement geared toward athletes. Jocko Greens and AG1 feature fruit and vegetable blends with probiotics. Though they have impressive ingredients, I'd still recommend Live it Up Super Greens for health-conscious individuals over the other two options. It includes all-natural organic ingredients with digestive enzymes at a more affordable price point.

Is drinking greens powder actually good for you?

For many people, yes! Adding greens powder can help you increase your nutrient intake and support your health, especially if you struggle to eat enough fruits and vegetables every day. That said, green powders are meant to supplement—not replace—a nutritional diet full of whole foods.

Is Live it Up greens worth it?

Yes, I believe Live it Up Super Greens offers a great way to support the nutritional gaps in your diet and help you achieve potential health benefits like sustained energy, immune resilience, and digestive regularity. Super Greens has 20+ superfoods, organic vegetables, probiotics, and digestive enzymes with absolutely zero fillers, additives, sugar, or synthetic ingredients.
